Presenting the next recipient of the Gay Bombay Awards 2025 ✨

Dr Prasad Raj Dandekar (He/Him) – Healthcare Hero: For improving healthcare access for LGBT+ individuals in the city.

Dr Prasad is the founder of Health Professionals for Queer Indians (HPQI), an initiative that sensitises healthcare providers to the needs of queer individuals. He co-founded @seenagers with Ashok Row Kavi, a support group for gay and bisexual men over 50. A renowned cancer specialist, he also runs the podcast Fight Cancer with Dr Prasad to spread awareness about cancer and its treatment.

Most importantly, Dr Prasad is an out and proud gay man, living a joyful and authentic life with his partner Shripad — embodying the very spirit of courage and visibility that inspires our community.
