7th Sept, ‘25: GB Cooking Meet

Report on GB Cooking meet

The latest GB meet was held at a fellow co-member’s residence and featured a special agenda centered around cooking. The gathering turned out to be a memorable and enjoyable one, with 32 members in attendance.

The event began with lighthearted conversation, a round of songs, and soon transitioned into the main activity—cooking together. Members participated wholeheartedly, bringing creativity and artistry to the dishes being prepared. The food turned out not only delicious but also visually stunning, as reflected in the photographs captured during the event. Each dish bore testimony to the care, creativity, and shared enthusiasm of the group.

A highlight of the evening was the spread of delightful dishes and presentations put together by enthusiastic members:

– Guruprasad prepared soft and fluffy idli with flavorful chutney.

– Rajat Upadhyay and Mohan Ketwani served delicious sandwiches.

– Krs Krishna and his partner Kunal added a sweet touch with rich, creamy kheer.

– Suneel Surendran presented melt-in-the-mouth gulab jamun.

– Professor Mainak Majumdar treated everyone to an elaborate spread of paneer fry, fish dahi, Bengali sweets, and steamed rice.

– Pratik Suryavanshi displayed his carving artistry, creating fruit designs including a watermelon carved with the GB logo.

– Shailesh Thakur showcased an elegant cocktail and mocktail demo, refreshing palates and adding flair to the evening.

The desserts were savored with delight, and the laughter around the room added warmth to the already sensuous and joyous atmosphere. Bala’s charm and Chetan and Hemang as hosts, combined with the cozy setting and delectable spread, ensured that the afternoon unfolded beautifully.

As Guruprasad, one of the participants, captured it perfectly:

“A rainy afternoon, a cozy home, a spread of delectable Indian delicacies, a warm welcoming host and Bala’s charm. Could you ask for more? Yes! You missed it. Wait. It gets even better as a cute Bengali with a guitar sang sweet songs. The desserts tasted sweeter and the laughter added to the sensuous air. The GB Cooking meet was a memorable event that all of us will cherish.”

Alongside cooking, there was ample time for discussion, laughter, and relaxation. Members enjoyed food, drinks, and plenty of unhurried conversation, keeping in line with the tradition of warmth and camaraderie that has become standard at all GB meets.

This meet carried a special significance as it marked the first event of our anniversary month. It was executed seamlessly, setting the perfect tone for the celebrations to follow. The joy and togetherness documented in the pictures stand as proof of an evening well spent.

In all, the GB meet was a resounding success—balancing fun, creativity, and community in an atmosphere of shared joy.
